The organizing committee is delighted to announce the International Conference: Violence on Women. Hypostases. Explanations. Interventions, 5th Edition, a significant academic gathering aimed at shedding light on the multifaceted issue of violence against women and fostering collaborative efforts to address this global challenge. We invite researchers, scholars, practitioners, activists, and policymakers from around the world to submit their proposals and participate in this conference.

Conference Objectives:

  • Provide a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on violence against women, fostering collaboration among academia, civil society, and policymakers.
  • Share cutting-edge research, best practices, and innovative strategies for preventing violence against women and supporting survivors.
  • Engage in critical discussions on the root causes, impact, and consequences of violence against women in diverse cultural, social, and political contexts.
  • Explore the intersections of violence against women with other forms of oppression or discrimination.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities to build partnerships and coalitions for effective advocacy and policy reform.
  • Amplify the voices and experiences of survivors, centering their narratives in the discourse on violence against women.
  • Promote the development of evidence-based interventions and policies to prevent and respond to violence against women.

  • Conceptual frameworks and theories of violence against women.
  • Forms of violence: physical, sexual, emotional, economic, and digital.
  • Structural, cultural, and systemic factors contributing to violence against women.
  • Examining the interconnectedness of violence against women with other forms of discrimination.
  • Intersectionality: understanding how race, class, sexuality, and disability intersect with violence against women.
  • Promising practices in preventing violence against women at individual, community, and societal levels.
  • Innovative interventions and programs for supporting victims and promoting their healing and empowerment.
  • Legal and policy reforms to enhance prevention and response mechanisms.
  • Digital violence and cyberstalking: challenges and solutions.
  • Online platforms and social media for awareness, advocacy, and support.
  • Ethical considerations and digital safety in research and activism.
  • Cross-cultural variations in violence against women.
  • Lessons learned from successful initiatives and movements worldwide.
  • Crises and social changes in relation to violence against women (e.g. Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine war).
  • Human trafficking and prostitution from social and cultural perspectives.
  • Comparative analysis of legal frameworks and policies addressing violence against women.

Mihaela Tomiță

Professor, PHD

Mihaela Alida TOMIȚĂ este profesor la Departamentul de Asistență Socială, Facultatea de Sociologie și Psihologie de la Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara, România. Activitatea profesională, academică și științifică este strâns legată de cea terapeutică și abordarea educațională a tinerilor infractori și a tinerilor cu abuz de substanțe, militând și promovând strategii de intervenție și sancțiuni alternative în sistemul de justiție penală.
Nadji Rahmania

Professor, PHD

Nadji Rahmania est professeur à L'université de Lille (France) et membre du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. Il est auteur de plusieurs ouvrages et articles tant du domaine de la sociologie que dans le domaine des mathématiques sociales. Il a dirigé plusieurs projets de coopération communautaires dont une bonne partie impliquait l'université Alexandru Ioan Cuza.
Valentina Rujoiu

Professor, PHD

Valentina Rujoiu este profesor la Universitatea București, editor executiv Social Work Review, membru fondator Animal Partners and Friends, Doctor în Sociologie din anul 2008 cu tema Violența domestică: violul marital (prima teză de doctorat din Romania în care problematica violului marital a fost studiată din perspectivă interdisciplinara; până in anul 2008, violul marital a fost abordat doar din perspectivă juridică).
Adrian Netedu

Professor, PHD

Adrian Netedu est professeur à la Faculté de Philosophie et de Sciences Socio-Politiques, Département de Sociologie, Assistance Sociale et Ressources Humaines, UAIC Iași. Principaux domaines de recherche : méthodologie sociologique; statistique sociale; théories sociologiques contemporains; sociologie urbaine, démographie.
