General Description

        Argumentum  is the scientific journal of the Seminar of Discursive Logic, Argumentation Theory and Rhetoric, a research center functioning since 2000 in the Department of Philosophy of "Al. I. Cuza" University, Iaşi. Argumentum is an online, open-access, peer review journal published by Axis Academic Foundation Press, Iași.

Frequency

       Founded in 2002, the journal was published annualy from 2002 to 2010 and  biannually from 2011 to 2024. Since 2025, it has reverted to an annual publication schedule, with occasional suplementary issues published on special occasions.

Editorial policy

        We publish original articles and book reviews in logic, argumentation theory, rhetoric and communication sciences. We only publish articles that have not been published before. Republication of an already published article is possible only in exceptional cases.

        Texts can be written in English and French.

        Any opinions expressed in the articles belong to the authors and do not represent the point of view of the publishers, editors, or members of the editorial board.

Peer review policy       

        Papers are refereed by two external anonymous reviewers. The refereeing period is 6 months. Authors will be notified by email if their text is accepted for publication, recommended for revision, or rejected. All submissions should be prepared for blind reviewing: authors should remove all information that could reveal their identity and provide their name and contact information on a separate page.

Open Access Policy

        Argumentum adheres to the Open Access policy. All texts are available free of charge on the website https://www.fssp.uaic.ro/argumentum/ and are published under a Creative Commons Licence (Attribution-NoDerivs: CC BY-ND)  

Distribution

        The journal is distributed nationally, amongst various university libraries .The journal is available free of charge in its electronic format on this website.

Author’s rights

        All rights remain with the authors. Authors retain the right to republish their articles, in original or in a changed form, with a note about the fact that they were first published in our journal.
